Civil War notebook of John Peter Jones [manuscript], 1862-1863.

Jones's notebook contains signed entries for ca. 269 fellow Confederate prisoners, many of whom were captured at the Battle of Gettysburg. Each officer recorded his name, home town, regiment, and date and place of capture. Among the signees are Confederate generals Isaac R. Trimble, James J. Archer, John R. Jones, John Wesley Frazer, Meriwether Thompson, and William N.R. Beall, and majors William Carvell Hall and Henry Kyd Douglas.
